Fund Raising

Fundraisers and
Special Events –
Stewardship of Time, Talent & Treasure

We are reminded that Stewardship is a year-round program of giving; not just our treasure (by pledging), but our gifts of time and talentsas well. Some of our best moments come through the shared experience of fundraising and special events, where fun and fellowship help boost our sense of community and pride of accomplishment. There are many opportunities to participate; check out the ones listed below:

The Valentine’s Day
Dinner – Annual, February

Our fantastic Choir has incredible talent – not only do they sing, but they cook, too. And can they ever put on a party!  Tickets for this popular event tend to sell out quickly, and no wonder! Great food, imaginative themes and decorations, superb entertainment, a little auction action – it’s all here on the corner of Elmwood and W. Ferry.  All proceeds go to the Church!

Music Sundays –
Semi-Annual, December and April

Two special Worship Services, marking the Christmas and Easter seasons, combine choir and orchestra under the baton of our Director of Music, Barbara Wagner. These events draw a large audience from the wider Buffalo community, and fill our Sanctuary with sublime music. The collections of Music Sunday offerings help support UUCB and it’s renowned music program.

Craft Shows –
Semi-Annual, December and August

Pottery, jewelry, photography, you name it --Two juried shows feature handcrafted items from local artisans and crafters. It’s a fun and friendly way to shop for gifts for yourself and others, and provides a wonderful way to showcase the church for the community. Many volunteers set up the shows, help
publicize them, and support the artists throughout. All table fees are contributed to UUCB.

Souper Sundays –
Monthly, September – June

Three dollars ($3.00) buys a great lunch on the second Sunday of each month. Your choice of hearty, delicious soups (vegetarian and otherwise) cooked up by Soup Chef, Jesse. But, it’s not just the food – it’s the fellowship. Sit and chat with old friends or make some new ones; we’re all part of the family at UUCB. RE classes share responsibility for these events; proceeds benefit Church programs.
